Funeral service for Gladys Woolman Cooley, 101, of Ragley, LA will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder with Rev. Mike Neel officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Dry Creek, LA under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder, LA. Gladys passed from this life on Sunday, July 20, 2014, in Newton, TX.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home in DeRidder.
Gladys was born on Tuesday, December 24, 1912, to Sully Dugas and Edna Fruge Dugas in Eunice, LA. Her family moved to Lake Charles in the early 1920’s. She worked most of her life in the main office of Southern Amusement Company which owned many theaters throughout Louisiana.
She is survived by 1 son, George Clark Woolman and wife Barbara Dill Woolman of Ragley, LA; 1 granddaughter, Letitia Gwen Canty and husband Mike Canty of Newton, TX; 2 great grandsons, Steven Veron and wife Misty of Lumberton, TX and George Warren Riggs and wife Crystal of Ragley, LA; 2 great, great grandsons and 2 great, great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husbands, George H. Clark, Charles Warren Woolman and Aubrey C. Cooley; her parents, Edna and Sully Dugas; brothers, Johnny and Batson Dugas and sister, Edith Gibson.
