Gerald Wayne Lyles' Obituary
Gerald Wayne Lyles, 70, entered peacefully into rest on Friday, October 2, 2020 at Willis Knighton Hospital - Bossier City, Louisiana. Gerald was born to Wayne Lyles and Alphia (Carpenter) Smith on August 27, 1950, in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Visitation will begin Thursday, October 8, 2020, from 12:00 noon until Funeral Service begins 3:00 PM, at Temple Baptist Church, 122 Martin Luther King Drive, in DeRidder, Louisiana. Interment will follow at Whitaker Cemetery, DeRidder, LA.
Gerald was a Drill Instructor while serving in the United States Army, and served in the Vietnam War. He was a sheriff deputy with the Beauregard Sheriff’s Department. He also worked in the oilfield industry.Left to cherish his memory are his mother Tenna Lyles of Victoria, TX; two sons Jacob Lyles of DeRidder, LA, Prentice Lyles and wife Kelle L. (Hinson) Lyles of Bunkie, LA; brother Paul Eugene Lyles and wife Cindy of Reeves, LA; sisters Linda Graves and husband Mike of DeRidder, LA, Lindy Landrum of Victoria, TX; and grandchildren Chance Johnson, Braden and KateLyn Flower, Karlee and Kinzee Lyles; and mother of his son Nancy Canttrell of DeRidder, LA.
Preceded in death by his parents Wayne Lyles and Alphia Carpenter Smith; daughter Robin Lyles Johnson; brothers Dennis James “Jamie” Lyles and Jarrell Matthew Lyles.
