Georgia Nell Vice Broussard's Obituary
Funeral Service for Georgia Nell Vice Broussard, 87, of DeRidder, LA will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in DeRidder with Rev. Jude Brunnert officiating. Burial will be held at Dry Creek Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder, LA. Mrs. Broussard passed from this life on Sunday, September 13, 2015, at her residence.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 4 PM until 9 PM at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA, with a Rosary being recited at 7 PM. And the visitation will continue on Wednesday, from 9 AM until 12 PM at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Isaac Broussard of DeRidder, LA;
6 children, Kenneth Broussard and wife Juanita of Houston, TX, Beverly Broussard of Dry Creek, LA, Isaac Broussard, Jr. and wife Diane of Lafayette, LA, Norbert Broussard and wife Faye of Mittie, LA, Georgette Vercher and husband Reginald of DeRidder and John Broussard of Longville; 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Norbert and Nedia Premeaux Vice; 2 brothers, Hayes Vice, Essay Vice; 3sisters, Louella Young, Annie Chagois and Rosie Curtis; 1 granddaughter, Kay Broussard Harwell and 1 daughter-in-law, Carol Johnson Broussard.
Georgia was born on Sunday, August 12, 1928, to Norbert and Nedia Premeaux Vice at Ged, LA. She was a member of the Homemakers Association, Beauregard Cattlemen’s Association Cowbell and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in DeRidder. She and her husband Isaac were very dedicated and founding members of St. Jude’s Catholic Church at Dry Creek where they served in many capacities.
She loved her family and many friends. Georgia knew no strangers. She enjoyed cooking and large family gatherings. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and she and her husband were inseparable.
