THOMPSON, what do say about an amazing man...he cared about his students..his ties to make kids Laugh, and socks to match..it was always nice to see him walk around the school and just to check on the kiddos. Mary, Sunny and I are so sorry. I know words are never enough, But close your eyes and let your heart hear how sad we feel at George's leaving us.He will Never be forgotten for He was one of the very few Men of Integrity, Honesty and Honor in our World today. He taught these important Principals to hundreds of children who in turn grew up and carried on for him; to their children. How many people live their lives and can leave a legacy like that. And, you know God only chooses the very Best to teach his little angels. God Bless You
I am heart broken to hear this! Mr.T was the best principal Hornbeck High School has had since the 1980s. No one will ever be able to fill his shoes. Since he left Hornbeck I would see him from time to time he would always hug me ask how I was doing. He wanted to know about my family and especially about my son. He would cheer my son on to cross the finish line at the Rotary Club Cross Country Race at Hodges Gardens. He would be at every fund raiser we had that him and Mrs. Thompson could make it too. Fly high and enjoy heaven till we meet again Mr. T love you bunches.
There are simply not enough words in the dictionary to express the sadness I feel reading about Mr. T. He was a mentor to me and many others. At my father's funeral when Mr. T came up to me and gave me a hug after not seeing him for many years I realize then the connection he had with my dad and that he was my "little birdie" always informing my dad how I was doing in school. My heart is broken. To Ms. Mary and family, what a wonderful man and how lucky we are to have had the opportunity to share this life with him. God bless keep safe my love to you all.
To family of George Thompson, Words cannot express my deep sorrow at the death of your husband, father and grandfather. What a wonderful man to know and work with for many years. He was such a joy to be around. He was always so positive and gave everyone he met encouraging words. My husband Gerald and I are honored to be able to call him friend. We will truly miss him. We will pray that God will give you the comfort you need for this time of sorrow. With love and prayers to each of you.
I loved Uncle George he was a great man. Aunt Babe and Uncle George would always come over to my Grandmonter's house Ida Danley No matter what I had to do I always found the time to go see them. I loved to hear all the stories growing up, And as I got older I had a lot of respected for the both of them. I will miss him dearly. I love u Aunt Babe,

So sad to hear this... Mr. Thompson was a blessing to so people he would light up a room even with his ties that would light up..he ALWAYS had a smile..he will be greatly missed...may God be with his family.
He was something else...cracking jokes but such a great man! Mr. Thompson will be missed!
I still remember him and his wife from his years at Hornbeck High School. He and Mrs. Mary were a delight. Many wonderful memories of cooking in home ec and he would volunteer to be the tester of our cooking. :) My prayers for Mrs. Mary and the family. Until we meet again Mr T!!!
