George Andrew Lankford's Obituary
Funeral services for George Andrew Lankford, 68, of New Llano, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2013, at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville. Burial will follow in the Glass Window Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 14th from 11 am - 10 pm, and on Monday, April 15th, from 9 am until service time in the chapel.
George, the son of William Delmer and Mildred Helen Fowle Lankford was born September 27, 1944, in Boston, MA. He passed away Friday, April 12th in DeRidder.
Mr. Lankford was a veteran of the U S Army. He was a member of the Orange Chapter 224 Order of the Eastern Star and the Old Anacoco Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed going to the Casino and spending time with family. He loved his dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mildred Lankford and in-laws, Wayne & Olene Sigler.
Mr. Lankford is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lelia Lankford of New Llano, LA; daughters, Mildred McNamara & husband William of Leesville, LA & Sherry Lankford of New Llano, LA; grandchildren, Malachi Wayne McNamara and Branden Alexandria McNamara both of Leesville, LA, Nikita Leterice Baxtor of Leesville, LA;brother, William “Billy” Delmer Lankford, Jr., of Boston, MA; sisters, Helen Pyser of Boston, MA; sister-in-law, Beverly Thigpin and Rodney of Morgan City, LA and numerous nieces, nephews & great nieces and nephews.
