Garland McInnis' Obituary
Funeral services for Garland McInnis, 86 of Lake Charles, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 10, 2023 in the Cold Springs Baptist Church in Anacoco with Bro. Rickey Robertson and Andrew Simms officiating. Burial will follow in the McInnis Cemetery in Anacoco under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 10th from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the church.
Garland was born on June 20, 1937 in Anacoco to his parents, Chester and Hazel Self McInnis. He passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023 in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Chester & Hazel McInnis; sister: Gayle McInnis.
Garland served in the United States Army, spending most of his military time in Germany. He worked most of his life as a plant operator and after retirement, traveled in and out of the country consulting on projects. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish and hunt but mostly enjoyed walking through the woods making memories with his grandkids.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years: Margie McInnis of Lake Charles, LA; daughters: Shaunda McInnis of Sulphur, LA, Stephanie McInnis Richardson of Jennings, LA; sisters: June Antony of Georgia, Macel Howard of Kurthwood, LA, Elwyn Bean of Georgia; grandchildren: Meredith Deters, Elizabeth Ardoin Huwe & husband Jerry Huwe, Brett Deters & wife Allison Bass Deters, Jenna Richardson, Jolie Richardson; great-grandchildren: Jackson, Carlea, Brycen, Harper and a host of nieces, nephews and other family.
