Gabriel "Gabe" Hernandez's Obituary
Gabriel "Gabe" Hernandez, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, in Bossier City, Louisiana. Born on March 24, 1954, in Lockhart, Texas to Eulalin and Patrocincia Hernandez, Gabe lived a life rich with love and service that touched the hearts of many.
He is survived by his loving wife Carolyn "Regina" Hernandez of Bossier City; sons Gabriel Hernandez, Jr. of Sugartown and Keith Hernandez of Oakdale; stepdaughter Holly Allen (Scott) from Sharp; brother Frank Martinez; grandchildren Mercedes, Destiny and Madison; three great-grandchildren and a host nieces and nephews.
A proud veteran of the United States Army for over twenty years, Gabe dedicated his life to serving his country. Gabe loved music, eating good food, his close friends and to travel. He found companionship in Possum—the cat who graced his home for many years. He was a life Member of the VFW Post 15019.
Preceding him in death were parents Eulalin and Patrocincia Hernandez along with siblings Robert and Mary Cruz.
Funeral services honoring Gabriel’s remarkable journey will take place at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville at 10:00 A.M., Friday July 24th. Friends may pay their respects during visitation on Thursday, July 23rd from 5:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M., followed by a Rosary at 6:00 P.M. Following the service will be burial at Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery—a fitting tribute for one whose heart beat proudly for both family and country.
