G. Brian Brown's Obituary
Funeral services for G. Brian Brown, 46, of DeRidder, LA, will be Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at 2 P.M. in Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder with Rev. Roger Gill and Rev. Wayne Kite officiating. Burial will follow in Barrentine Cemetery in Longville, LA, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 3th from 6 PM until 9 PM then Monday, April 4, 2011, from 1 PM until 9 PM and then Tuesday, April 5, 2011 from 9 AM until time of the service, all in the funeral home.
Brian was born December 11, 1964, in Lake Charles, LA, the son of Gordon and Bettye Brown. He passed away Friday, April 1, 2011. He was a graduate of South Beauregard High School in 1983, where he was active in rodeo, 4-H and FFA. He then continued his education at Texas Christian University where he graduated with a degree in Ranch Management. He was a self-employed forestry contractor and co-owner of BCF Services. Brian was a very active father and was very active in the South Beauregard Youth Football League, the South Beauregard Little Dribblers and the Ragley Recreation Association. He was also active in Beauregard Fire District #2 where he was a member for fifteen years and served as Secretary/Treasurer. He was of the Baptist faith.
Brian is survived by his wife, Brenda Bice Brown, sons Gordon Chase and Drew Nathaniel Brown, all of DeRidder; parents Gordon and Bettye Brown of DeRidder; two sisters, Gayle Pittman and husband Glynn of Collinsville, MS, and Beth Franklin and husband Gary of Lampasas, TX; sister-in-law Cindy Johnson and husband Patrick of Westlake, LA; and seven nieces and nephews.
Brian’s family has asked that donations be made to South Beauregard Youth Football League or South Beauregard Little Dribblers.
