Freda Lou LaCaze Craft's Obituary
Funeral services for Freda Lou LaCaze Craft, 95, of Anacoco, Louisiana will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at Anacoco First Baptist Church with Rev. Lindsey Burns and Rev. D.R. Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Self Cemetery in Anacoco, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 5th from 3 pm - 9 pm, and on Tuesday, August 6th, from 9 am until time of service at the church.
Freda, the daughter of Sulonge Leonidas LaCaze and Emma Jane Gandy was born January 3, 1918, in Rosepine, Louisiana she passed away Thursday, August 1st in Leesville.
During World War II she worked for Higgins Aircraft as an Aircraft Inspector. Then for many years she worked for the Riff’s Department Store in Lake Charles, LA. After her and A. B. moved back to Anacoco she worked and retired from the Federal Civil Service at Fort Polk as a Nursing Assistant. Freda was a devoted member of the Anacoco First Baptist Church where she was extremely active in the WMU and she also worked for many years in Vacation Bible School. Freda was a caregiver, a burden lifter and true servant of the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her husband, of 54 years, A. B. Craft, Jr., and son, Bardy Craft.
She is survived by her son, David Kent Craft of China; daughter-in-law, Linda Craft of Katy, TX; sister, Maurice Burton of DeRidder, LA; Special friend, Carolyn Fields of Anacoco, LA; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Leesville Hospice and Woodlands Health Care Center for their excellent care give to Freda.
