Fred Cryer's Obituary
Fred Cryer, 99, of Longville, La., passed from this life on Monday, February 4, 2011, at Merryville Nursing Center, Merryville, La. Fred was born on January 1, 1912 to Thomas Jack and Elizabeth Smith Cryer in Merryville, La. He lived his life in DeRidder and Merryville. He retired from Longbell International and the Beauregard Parish Police Jury as a grader operator.
Funeral service will be held for Mr. Cryer on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at 10:00 AM at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, La. Minister officiating will be Elder Truman Keel. Burial will be at Cannon Cemetery, Merryville, La. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home in DeRidder.
Survivors include one daughter, Ann Cooley and husband Jimmy of Longville, La; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; friends and his church family. He enjoyed his family, his church and gardening. Fred was a member of Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ethel Young Cryer, his second wife, Lea M. Cryer and his son Tommy Jack Cryer.
