Funeral services for Franklin “Slim”, 84, of DeRidder will be held Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 11 am at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, with Rev. Sylvia McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in the Whitaker Cemetery, under Read Obituary

Uncle Frank was an inspiration for me as a young boy. He came up in a generation where you had to fix everything yourself. I remember fondly of the times he would work all day in the woods and work on his truck evenings and weekends. He helped me drag my first car out of the weeds and mechanic it back to life. I will always remember him and thank him for being a kind uncle. I will truly miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with Aunt Virgie and the girls, the loss of a parent is always hard and words will not soften the blow of them being gone. May Uncle Frank rest in peace and give hugs and kisses to grandma, papa and all the other family members that have gone on before. Love and prayers to the family.
