Frank Reginald Martin's Obituary
Frank Reginald Martin, 67, of DeRidder, LA, went to be with our Lord on February 16, 2026. He was a devoted husband to his sweet wife, Phyllis Kay Martin, for the better part of 49 years. They were graciously blessed with five children: Jerome, Yolanda, Justin, Liz, and Susie.
Frank was born to Velmer Ray Martin and Mary Elizabeth Neal on June 26, 1958. He graduated high school in 1976 in Fairview, LA. From a young age, he followed in the footsteps of many generations before him and began his lifelong, steadfast career in the sawmill workforce. He was a hardworking man who spent his life dedicated to providing for his family by any means necessary.
His family—from his wife to his children, and from his grandchildren to his great-grandchildren—were the people he loved most and with whom he most enjoyed spending time. They never went without knowing his wholehearted and unconditional love. He was a traditional man of strong will, kindness, and determination who held strong family values.
Among the many cherished memories, Frank always made sure to have a feast prepared for Thanksgiving and Christmas with the family—and they had better not go digging through his candy and snack stash.
Frank was preceded in death by his father, Velmer Ray Martin; mother, Mary Elizabeth Neal; brother, Velmer Ray Martin, Jr.; sisters, Stella and Pee-Wee Martin; granddaughter, Katie Isbell; and son-in-law, Michael Waddle.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Kay Martin of DeRidder, LA; sons, Jerome Martin (fiancée Joanne) of Poquoson, VA, and Justin Martin (wife Candace) of DeRidder, LA; daughters, Yolanda Waddle of DeRidder, LA, Mary “Liz” Martin of DeRidder, LA, Susie Isbell (husband Buddy) of DeRidder, LA, and Tamara Munson of Houston, TX; brother, Byron Martin of DeRidder, LA; sister, Betty Rose Bowman of Hern, TX; grandchildren, Lauren, Chandler (Sydney), Austin, Desiree, Dalton, Bryson, Heath, Vincent, Skyler, Makayla, Jaden, Jackie, Sadie, and Tessa; and great-grandchildren, Harper, Sophia, Zuri, Natalie, Waylon, Benjamin, and Zanovii, along with a host of extended family and lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held February 23, 2026, at Simmons Mills Church from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM and again on February 24, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM and continue until 2:00 PM with Rev. Dalton Isbell, Rev. Ricky Wead, Jr., and Rev. Jeff Phillips officiating. A burial service will follow at Buck Martin Cemetery.
Pallbearers in attendance will be John Martin, Jerome Martin, Justin Martin, Chandler Martin, Skyler Martin, and Buddy Isbell.
We find comfort in knowing that you are at peace now with our Lord. Your legacy will live on through the love you shared and the cherished memories that will live forever in our hearts. We love you, and may you rest in peace for all eternity.
