Frances Carolyn Chance Gaskin's Obituary
Funeral services for Frances Carolyn (Chance) Gaskin, of Anacoco, will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville with Bro. Wayne Chance & Bro. Jerry Masters officiating. Burial will follow in the Prewitt’s Chapel Cemetery in Hornbeck.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 11:00 A.M– 12:00 P.M in the funeral home.
God blessed this world with Frances Carolyn (Chance) Gaskin in 1941, shared her with us and others for 79 years as she served her Heavenly Father, until she was called home on August 30, 2021.
Frances was born on December 29th 1941, to F.C. and Elsie Chance of the Plainview Community. She later married Larry Clarence Gaskin of Anacoco on November 26th 1959. Together they raised three daughters; Janet, Suzanne and Paula. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and watching her family enjoy her delicious meals and desserts.
Frances was a member of Old Anacoco Baptist Church. A former and longtime member of Hornbeck Bible Baptist Church in Hornbeck, LA where she sang in the choir, sang specials and did many other services during her time there.
Frances worked for Dr. Ottis Biggs as his personal nurse and in the later years of her work typed medical insurance in his office.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, F. C. and Elsie Chance; brother, Roger Dale Chance; and daughter, Janet Marie Gaskin.
Francis is survived by her husband, Larry Clarence Gaskin of Anacoco; daughters; Suzanne Shirley of Anacoco and Paula Bridges and husband Everett of Anacoco; sisters, Gloria Jean Sanders of Hornbeck and Sharlon Annette Frederick of Alexandria; granddaughters, Brenna Moore and husband Tom B. of Pineville, Megan Brown and husband Ricky of Pickering, and Ashlyn Self of Hornbeck; great grandchildren Ricky Brown III, Abigail Brown, Kolin Brown, Linkon Brown Braylin Moore, Alonna Littleton, Everly Johnson, and Bladen Self, other relatives and a multitude of friends.
