Floyce Loftin Herring's Obituary
Funeral services for Floyce Loftin Herring, 93, of Leesville, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at the Labby Memorial Funeral Chapel in Leesville with Rev. Gil Arthur officiating. Burial will follow in the Silver Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 6th, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, January 7th, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
She was born on August 28, 1921, to Henry A. and Linnie Carter Durham in Montgomery, LA. She moved to Leesville in 1940 and lived most of her life in Leesville, LA. She was a member of East Leesville Baptist Church in Leesville, LA. She was known for working at West-Gibsons in Leesville from 1964 - 1984. She passed from this life on January 4, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1st Husband, Roy Leon Cooke in 1951, her 2nd Husband, Reuel S. Loftin in 1991 and her 3rd Husband, Vernon ‘Shorty’ Herring in 2008. son, Lyndon Marlon Cooke, daughter, Sandra Lanita Cooke, Grandsons; Winston D. Cooke, Jr. and Malcolm Ray Turner, Jr., Brother, W. O. Durham, Sisters; Evelyn Bishop, Mildred Mitchell, Ola Bloom.
She is survived by her son, Winston D. Cooke Sr. and wife Adele of Panama City Florida, Three daughters, Naomi Cooke Turner of Shreveport, LA, Voncil Loftin Stephens and husband Pete Stephens of Leesville LA, and Rhonda Loftin Vanover, of Leesville; 2 Sisters, Madeline McNabb of Lake Charles, LA, Charlene Knapp of West Monroe, LA. Sister-in-law, Pettie Durham. Grandchildren, Faron Brown, Ferlon Brown, Gregory Brown, Justin Brown, Melanie Turner Walker (Duane) and Sandra Turner Sitagnata, Angela Cooke Yancy, Scott Cooke, Paula Cooke Warburton, Kenny Cooke, Radell Stephens (Kandi), Benjamin Stephens, and Rhea Vanover Lambert (Jesse). 26 Great-Grandchildren and 19 Great-Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
