Felix Victor Lugo-Rodriguez's Obituary
Felix Victor Lugo-Rodriguez entered peacefully into rest on Monday, December 13, 2021, at the age of 87 years, 6 months and 30 days, at Beauregard Health System in DeRidder with family by his side. Felix was born on May 14, 1934 to Felix Lugo Arias and Juanita Rodriguez Arias in San Jose, Puerto Rico.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December 19, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home located at 2110 Hwy 171, DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 20, 2021, with visitation starting at 10:00 AM and service will begin at 11:00 AM, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery located at 3348 University Parkway, Leesville, Louisiana with full military honors. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder.
Felix served a total of 52 years combined service in the United States Army and civil service, and was a decorated war veteran receiving the Bronze Star Medal with oak leaf and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry. He was an instructor of weapons, munitions, driving and knew four languages. His nickname was “Smoke”. He loved people, especially his family which will miss him dearly.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Terry Rogers of DeRidder, LA; daughter, Renate Tavares of DeRidder, LA; brothers, Diego Lugo-Rodriguez, and Amaurey Lugo-Rodriguez both of San Juan, Puerto Rico; grandchildren, Steven Tavares, Jr., Shaun Tavares, Terry Rogers, Jr., Breana Rogers Carroll, Cody Tanner, and Melissa Allen; eighteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Preceded in death by his wife, Hannalore “Anna” Rogers; daughter, Belinda Rogers, son-in-law, Steven Tavares, Sr.; and brother, Jose Lugo-Rodriguez.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are the United States Army Military Honor Guard.
