Faye Ellis Calhoun's Obituary
Funeral services for Faye Ellis Calhoun, 88, of DeRidder, LA, will be held at 2 PM Sunday, September 25, 2016, at Memorial Baptist Church near Longville, with Rev. Jimmy Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Barentine Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Visitation will be Saturday, September 24, 2016, from 5 PM until 9 PM at the funeral home and Sunday, September 25, 2016, from 1 PM until time of the service in the church.
Faye was born July 23, 1928, in Hornbeck, LA, to Oley Bronson and Crystal Pearl Snell Ellis. She passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016, in her residence. She was a graduate of Hornbeck High School and lived most of her life south of DeRidder. She was personnel manager for the Kmart store in DeRidder and a homemaker. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church near Longville.
She is survived by her son, Dudley Calhoun (Dee) of Emory, TX; two daughters, Sharon Smith (Bill) of Longville, LA, and Sandra “Sam” Armer (Ronnie) of Carlyss, LA; brother, Truman Ellis of Leesville; sisters, Linda Frances and Melba Newman, both of Hawthorne, LA; seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren; and a Special Friend and Caretaker, Kela Hirtzler. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ralph L. Calhoun, son, Kevin Calhoun, daughter, Cindy Calhoun, brother, Gayle Ellis and sister, Janice Jones.
