Funeral services for Mrs. Ezell White Johnson, 89, of DeRidder, LA, will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013, 10:00 AM, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder, LA. Ministers officiating will be Rev. George Lee Glass and Rev. Arlen Smith. Burial will be at Gravel Hill Cemetery, Cravens, LA. Mrs. Johnson passed from this life on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at St. Patrick’s Hospital in Lake Charles, LA.
Visitation begins Friday, October 11, 2013, 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again on Saturday, 8:00 AM prior to the service at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA
Ezell was born on August 30, 1924, to Beedie Johnson White and George White in Cravens, LA. She lived most of her life in Cravens, La before moving to DeRidder. Ezell was a very loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great, great grandmother who was dedicated to her family. She was a true inspiration to her family and friends while always nurturing them in a loving and positive manor. Ezell was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include 1 son, John Perry Johnson and wife Phyllis of DeRidder, LA; 3 daughters, Betty Cunningham and husband Richard Lee ”Rickey” of DeRidder, LA, Kolean “Kokie” Gill of DeRidder, LA and Madgalene “Maggie” Afeman and husband Larry Jerrel of Hineston, LA; 1 sister, Marguerite Hudson and husband Billy of Benton, LA; 21 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 8 great, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mitchell Winfred Johnson; 3 sons, James Alvers Johnson, George Thomas Johnson, infant son, Winston Mitchell Johnson; 1 brother, Herman White and 1 sister, Nelda Jackson.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Mahesh Pandya and staff, Beauregard Home Health, Beauregard Memorial Hospital, Companion Care, St. Patrick’s Hospital for their services and the many friends and family for their love, prayers and visits.
