On the morning of June 16, 1977, Everson Job Funderburk “Joe” was born to Irene Walters Funderburk and Everson Funderburk of Simpson, Louisiana. Joe grew up, and then remained most of his life in Simpson, where he was a graduate of Simpson High School class of 1996, known there as “Air Funderburk” on the basketball team.
Joe was a humble, soft-spoken man with a gentle soul who was happy with the simplest of things and ways of life. Joe loved to be outdoors enjoying creation while discovering artifacts of the past. He was also an avid Raiders and LSU fan, always happy to talk of his favorite teams. Joe was no stranger to hard work, and he was always one to put his heart into helping his family and friends whenever he possibly could.
Joe departed his life on the morning of May 9, 2023. Joe is survived by one daughter and one son “Little” Irene and Everson Funderburk. At the time of his departure, Joe was surrounded by his sisters, Ruby Thompson and Tanna Kennedy, his brother Michael Cleveland and wife Tiffany, along with his devoted girlfriend, Meagan Bryana Robinson.
Your race is now run, Everson Job, your life and memory will be cherished.
