Evelyn D. Robinson's Obituary
Funeral services for Evelyn D. Robinson, 81, of DeRidder, will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 11, 2024, in the chapel of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder with Rev. George Lee Glass officiating. Burial will follow in the Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder.
Visitation will be Friday, May 10, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and again on Saturday from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service.
Evelyn Frances (Dukes) Robinson passed away on May 9, 2024, at her home in DeRidder, surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Charles; daughters, Kim Burns and husband Bill of The Villages, FL; Karen Warren and husband Mike of DeRidder; Terri Lu Duttry and husband Russell of DeRidder; and son, David Robinson and wife Julie of DeRidder. Evelyn was grandmother to 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. One of the “Dukes girls,” Evelyn is survived by her sisters, Nelda Welch; Yvonne Rogers; Nancy Massey and predeceased by Janet Sue Cooke. She is also survived by her brother Norman Dukes and sister-in-law, Elaine Robinson. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to their mother’s caregiver whom she trusted and looked for each day, LaShawnda Harris, who will always be our Angel. Special thanks also, to Anna and Ashley with Heart of Hospice for their loving care.
Evelyn worked for many years at the Welfare Department in DeRidder; Later, she worked with her husband in their businesses at the Butcher Block and The Waffle Shoppe, keeping the books, but always making time for customers and employees alike. Evelyn never met a stranger, was not one to harshly judge, and loved most of all to laugh. Her best times were those spent with her family. She will be deeply missed.
