Ethel Moses Kern's Obituary
Ethel Moses Kern, 85, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at her home in DeRidder, LA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, married over 50 years, Myron L. Kern of DeRidder, son Kenneth B. Kern and parents Barney H. Moses and Ruth Austin Moses, also of DeRidder.
Ethel was born in DeRidder on December 30, 1925 to Barney Moses & Ruth Austin Moses. She was a homemaker. Her interests included family, fishing, hunting and preparing meals for those she loved. She devoted much of her time and energy as loving wife, mother & grandmother.
Mrs. Kern is survived by a daughter, Deborah Kern Smith and son Ronald Paul Kern, both of DeRidder; sister JoAnn Moses Derrough of Hammond, LA; grandson, David Wiegand and his Fiancee’ Janelle and children of Palestine, Texas, and daughter in law, Linda Youngblood Kern of DeRidder, LA.
Graveside services for Mrs. Kern will be held on Monday, November 21, 2011, 2:00 PM at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder. Minister officiating will be Rev. James Glass. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2011 from 5 PM to 8 PM at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. The family request that donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
