Ethel L. Cobb Dowden's Obituary
Funeral services for Ethel L. Cobb Dowden, 71, of Anacoco, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014, at the Oak Forest Baptist Church in Leesville with Rev. Millard Monk, Rev. D.R. Davis and Dr. Greg Lord officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Forest Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 17th from 5 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and on Saturday, January 18th from 9:00 a.m. until service time in the church.
Ethel, the daughter of Joseph O. and Ocie Lee Grimes Cobb was born July 12, 1942. She passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014, in Leesville.
Mrs. Dowden worked at Byrd ICU as a LPN for fifteen years and then went to work for Sabine Association for Retarded Citizens for fifteen years where she retired in 2008. She was member of Oak Forest Baptist Church and played the piano there for many years. She loved spending time with her family. She had a special bond with her granddaughter Courtney Dowden.
She was preceded in death by her parents; only son, David Harvey and brothers, Joe Ed & Johnny Wayne Cobb.
She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Fleming of Howe, TX, Renee Jeane & husband Jimmie of Leesville, Carol Harris & husband Van, of Keithville, and Candice Loonsfoot of Anacoco, sister, Ruby Bolgianio of Crossville, TN; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
