Graveside services for Essie Marine Hurt Phelps, 90, of Simpson, will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 2, 2021 in the Mt Pleasant Cemetery with Chaplain Lavillian Jordan officiating.
Essie was born on April 12, 1931 in Kentucky to her parents, Rolin Eugene & Clara Mae Romines Hurt. She passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021 in her home in Simpson.
Essie is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Stanfred E. Phelps, brother; Philip E. Hurt, granddaughter; Allison Shaltz.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughters; Becky Johnson of Simpson, LA., Brenda Gavin of Hixon, TN., Deb Smith of Houston, TX., brother; Tommy Hurt of Glasgow, KY., sisters; Pearl Paull of Glasgow, KY., Carol Richardson of Canada, Sue Ellis of Glasgow, KY., Barbara Estes of Glasgow, KY., five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
