Ervy Loewen Giesbrecht's Obituary
Ervy Loewen Giesbrecht, 79, entered peacefully into rest on Saturday, September 11, 2021, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Ervy was born on February 7, 1942, to David Leonard Giesbrecht and Mary Loewen Giesbrecht in Turlock, California.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Highland Mennonite Church located at 171 Mennonite Church Loop, DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Highland Mennonite Church with Minister Larry Schmidt and Kevin Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Mennonite Cemetery in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Ervy was a life long dirt mover and mechanic for 66 years. He enjoyed many hours singing with his family. He was a quiet, compassionate, caring man and loved to travel. He will be greatly missed by friends and loved ones.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Karen J. Giesbrecht of DeRidder, LA; four children Christy Nichols and husband Jerry of Sublette, KS, Harley Giesbrecht and wife Stephanie of DeRidder, LA, Justin Giesbrecht and wife Dinah of DeRidder, LA, Angela Goertzen and husband Tom of Canon, GA; six brothers Jesse Giesbrecht of Glenn, CA, Raymond Giesbrecht of Glenn, CA, David Giesbrecht, Jr. of Princeton, CA, James Giesbrecht of Grandview, ID, Harry Giesbrecht of Glenn, CA, Walter Giesbrecht of Othello, WA; one sister Annie Koehn of Glenn CA; seventeen grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents David and Mary Giesbrecht; two infant sons Ronald Dean Giesbrecht and Charles Lee Giesbrecht.
Those honored to serve as a pallbearer are Blake Nichols, Austin Nichols, Todd Goertzen, Jonathan Giesbrecht, Jacob Giesbrecht and Nigel Giesbrecht.
Those honored to serve as an honorary pallbearer are Isaac Giesbrecht, Axtin Giesbrecht and Coy Goertzen
