Elray Nash's Obituary
Funeral services for Elray Nash, 73, of Leesville, Louisiana will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Burr Ferry United Pentecostal Church in Burr Ferry with Rev. Ryan McNeely, Rev. Michael Bonds, Rev. James Herrington & Rev. Malcolm Jeans officiating. Burial will follow in the Burr Ferry Cemetery. LA, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 7 pm - 11 pm, Friday, July 22, 2011, and on Saturday, July 23, 2011 from 11 am until time of service at the church.
Elray, the son of Wilmer James and Lola Bass Nash was born on August 16, 1937, in Vernon Parish, Louisiana. He passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Byrd Regional Hospital in Leesville, LA. Mr. Nash was a native and lifelong resident of Vernon Parish. He was employed by Boise Cascade in DeRidder as a crane operator for 29 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking & eating and he also enjoyed his cattle and traveling. His family, friends and church were his life. He was very creative and inventive and was good at repairing and tinkering.
He is survived by his wife Iris Faye Nash of Leesville; son, Marvin Dale Nash of Port Barre, LA; daughter, Cheryl Gay Vincent of Leesville; grandchildren, Evelyn, Pamela, Christopher & Jamie and great grandchildren, Ashlie, Damaien, Alexis, Jayce and Eben.
