Eloise Frusha Nelson's Obituary
Eloise Frusha Nelson, 80, of DeRidder passed from this life on Friday, September 6th, 2013, at her home. Ms. Nelson retired after many years of service at City Savings Bank. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church. Ms. Nelson is preceded in death by her mother and father, Jesse and Polly Frusha and her husband, Cecil Nelson. During their marriage, Eloise and Cecil were active members of the Beauregard Cattleman’s Association. She enjoyed working side by side with her husband raising cattle and taking care of their farm. She also enjoyed planting a garden and tending to her flowers. She had a “green thumb” and could make anything grow. Those left to cherish her memory include 1 son, Cecil “Tommy” Nelson and wife Cindy of Rosepine, LA; 1 daughter, Donna Nelson Leenknecht and husband Michael of Eugene, OR; 1 sister, Yvonne Frusha Suarez and husband Sal of DeRidder, LA; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2013, 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will continue on Monday, September 9, 2013, 9:00 AM until time of service at 10:00 AM at New Life Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA. Minister officiating will be Rev. Lynn Clayton. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
