Eloise McDonald Martin's Obituary
Funeral services for Eloise McDonald Martin, 84, of Anacoco, Louisiana will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 23rd, at the First Baptist Church in Anacoco with Rev. Jason Keys and Rev Huey Haymon officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 22nd from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM in the funeral home, then Tuesday, Dec 23rd from 10 AM until service at the church.
Eloise, the daughter of John A. “Doc” and Eunice Raines McDonald, was born January 28, 1930 in Benson, LA. She passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014 in Alexandria.
She was born and raised in the Converse, LA area for 15 years then moved to Anacoco and graduated from Anacoco High School in 1947. She was a longtime member of Anacoco First Baptist Church. She served as Election Commissioner in Anacoco for over 50 years, volunteered for the American Red Cross and worked at the Expo hall at the fair grounds for a number of years. Eloise loved to travel especially to Europe having made two trips there. Loved music and going to Blue Grass Festivals all over Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Elton Martin and five sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Penny Martin; her son Mike and wife Karen Martin all of Anacoco; sister Betty Jo Rascoe of Converse, LA; grandchildren; Chad Michael martin, Todd Martin, Jeff Barber and Greg Barber; 8 great grandchildren.
