Funeral services for Elmo VanBurren Davis, Jr., 74, of Pitkin, LA, will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Six Mile Pentecostal Church in Pitkin, LA, with Rev. Charlie Willis and Rev. Louis Robertson officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2016, from 3 PM until 9 PM, Monday, May 23, 2016, from 12 PM until 9 PM, and Tuesday, May 24, 2016, from 9 AM until the service, all at Six Mile Pentecostal Church. Burial will follow in Blue Branch Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder.
Elmo, the son of Elmo VanBurren, Sr. and Lois Aderene Bowden Davis, was born on June 25, 1941, in Alexandria, LA. He passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016, in his residence in Pitkin, LA. He lived most of his life in Pitkin. He was a Professional Auctioneer, rancher and farmer and was also a Grain Broker and Elevator owner. He was a member of Six Mile Pentecostal Church.
he is survived by his wife of twelve years, Bobbie Jane Davis of Pitkin; three sons, Paul Truitt Davis of Wortham, TX, William Santford Davis (Elizabeth of Pitkin, and Calvin Taylor Davis of Rosepine, LA; one daughter, Angela Dawn Davis Stracener (John) of Pitkin; three brothers, William Calvin Davis of Houston, TX, Benjamin Franklin Davis of Jonesboro, AR, and John Edmond Davis of Valley City, ND; one sister, Betty Jane Moss of League City, TX; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Sharon Gay Pouncey Davis.
