Elmer Norman Thomas Nelson's Obituary
Elmer Norman Thomas Nelson, 82, of Anacoco, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016, in Alexandria. He was the youngest son of Alfred and Amy Maydole Nelson; he was born in Morrison Township, MN.
Elmer attended Aitkin High School in Aitkin, MN. Elmer served in the US Air Force for 8 years; he was a Korean War Veteran of which he served five years there. After he got out of the Air Force he worked for the US Air Force and the BBC in Berlin, Germany because of his special qualifications. While there he met the love of his life Luise Klara Blume, they married in October 21, 1966. Upon returning to the United States he was an Electrical Engineer for FMC in Minneapolis, MN until he retired in 1992. Elmer moved to Anacoco in 2015 to be closer to his family. He attended First Assembly of God in Leesville and he loved to fish.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Luise, and 21 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his Son and daughter in law; Klaus and Gail Leasure Hecht of Anacoco, LA; three grandchildren, Perry, Jarrett and Jessica and two great grandchildren, Torrence and Tayler.
Elmer’s wishes were to be cremated, and his services are under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville, LA.
