Ellon Dear's Obituary
Funeral services for Ellon Elizabeth Dear, 87, of DeRidder, La will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016 in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, with Rev’s Roger Gill, A.F. Ott, and Tim Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Smyrna Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 5:00 – 9:00p.m. in the Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dear was a cook at the East Beauregard School for 10 years. She also worked for over 20 years as a Rural Postal Carrier. She passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016 in the Rosepine Retirement Center in Rosepine, La.
She was preceded in death by: Husband: Berry “B.L.” Dear; Her Son: Larry Dear; Great Granddaughter: Ruby Ellon Breaux; Three Brothers: Harvey A. Gill, Ovie Gill, and Sherman Wisby.
She is survived by: Three Sons: Paul Dear and his Fiancé’ Debbie Mallory of Westlake, LA., Gary Dear of DeRidder, La., and Boyd Dear and his wife Carla of DeRidder, La.; One Brother: Shelton Wisby of Beaumont, TX.; Four Grandchildren: Eric Dear and wife Alma of Flint, TX., Tracy Breaux and husband Chris of DeRidder, LA., Lindsay Land and husband James of DeRidder, LA., and Philip Dear of Lake Charles, La.; One Great Grandchild: Nicholas “Nick” Williams
