Funeral services for “Bernie” Ellen Bernice Cooley Dundon, 82, of Dallas, LA, will be held Saturday, October 6, 2018, at 2 pm at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, with Rev. Lindsey Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the Whitaker Cemetery, DeRidder, LA. Visitation will be Friday, October 5, 2018, from 5 pm until 8 pm at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, and Saturday, October 6, 2018, from 9 am until service time at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder.
Bernie was born August 13, 1936 to Joel and Curtis (Hickman) Cooley in DeRidder. She passed away October 1, 2018, in Medical City Dallas Hospital in Dallas, TX.
Bernie loved flowers, planting, growing and arranging cut flowers brought her great joy. She treasured time spent with her family and friends. There was never a woman that loved her children as much as she loved her children.
Bernie is survived by her husband of 29 years, Jack Dundon; son, Charlie G. Stephens, Jr.; two daughters, Debra Franklin, Theresia Brown; stepson, Kenneth Dundon; three grandchildren, Jeff Laraway, James Michael Nation, Sarah Hall; 4 great grandchildren, Breanne Laraway, Colton Laraway, Kayla Laraway, Tori Trowbridge; one great-great grandchild, Cannon Laraway.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joel and Curtis Cooley; and brother, Ewell Cooley.
Serving as pallbearers Michael Nation, Charlie G. Stephens, Jeff Laraway, Tim Hall, and Colton Laraway.
