Ella Mae was born to Smith and Lena Whiteside on august 23, 1927. She married the love of her life, I.D. Noble, at the age of 17, and spent her adult life as a pastor’s wife, serving him and the Lord faithfully for over 68 years. She was a prayer warrior for anyone and everyone who asked and was never at a loss for words of encouragement or instruction. She was the living embodiment of Proverbs 31:26, “she opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.”
Ella Mae loved to hunt, fish, and mow her own grass, even into her 97th year. She was fond of her garden, her berry bushes, and her fig and pecan trees. She was a phenomenal cook and loved serving people and the Lord most of all.
Miss Ella Mae, or Mawmaw as most knew her, loved her family with all of her being. There was always an open door, plenty of food, and a “Have a seat son” for the men, or “come visit with me, baby” for the women who may visit. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and was extremely proud to have and be known by three separate lineages of great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband: I.D. Noble; son: Gary Lynn Noble Sr.: grandson: John Schaffer Jr.
She is survived by her son: Kenneth Noble & wife Gail of Anacoco; daughter: Dianne Neaugabuer & husband Carl of Anacoco; 7 grandchildren: 14 great grandchildren: 7 great-great grandchildren.
Mawmaw also viewed family a little differently than most. If you knew her and loved her, then you were family and loved as well. And it was never too late to become a member of Mawmaw’s family. She added two additional, very special, members to her family during her stay at The Woodlands Healthcare Center. Her roommate Linda Sherman and her, husband Sam.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Trevor Schaffer, Dillan Lynn, Daniel Noble, Jr., James Copeland, Ronnie Vincent, and Jarrett Westmorland. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Vance and Mike Westmorland.
