Elizabeth "Betty" Sylvia's Obituary
Funeral services for Elizabeth “Betty” Sylvia, 67, of Hornbeck, Louisiana will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Hornbeck First United Pentecostal Church in Hornbeck with Rev. Steve Lora and Rev. Daniel Slaydon officiating. Burial will follow in Self Cemetery in Hornbeck, LA under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will begin Sunday, April 3rd at 6:00 P.M. and continue until service time on Tuesday at the church.
Betty, the daughter of Francis and Elizabeth Brook Ford, was born September 22, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois. She passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011, at her residence in Hornbeck, LA.
Betty worked at the Vernon Council of Aging for over 28 years and she was a very active member of the Hornbeck United Pentecostal Church. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Albert Sylvia, and her brothers, Francis Ford, Robert Ford and her sister, Mary Hoppes.
She is survived by four brothers; Tom and Lin Ford of Stella, NC, John and Linda Ford of Levittown, PA, Larry and Elena Ford of Keansburg, N.J. and Raymond Ford of Virginia Beach, VA; Sister, Patricia and Charles Gennaro of Manorville, NY; her Louisiana family; Glen and Janice Brown of Hornbeck and Durinda Jarrell, Linda Lewis and Lisa Smith and numerous nephews and nieces.
