Funeral services for Elaine Moses,101, of Alabama will be held in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, Louisiana at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. Burial will follow in the Barentine Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 15th, from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home.
Elaine was born on October 17, 1920 in Springfield, Colorado to her parents, Clarence and Edith Cummings. She passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022 in Alabama.
She was one of eight children. The Family moved to DeRidder, LA in 1923. She finished High School in 1939 and briefly attended McNeese College. She was active in Southwest Day Lilly Club, Home Demonstration Club, Eastern Star and Senior Citizen Center. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff. She loved gardening and fishing, her family and had many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin Moses and siblings, Marie Adamson, Buster Cummings, Vergie Parsons, Tootsie Cummings, and Ralph Cummings.
Left to cherish her memory is her children, Judy Fant & husband Royce of Attalla, AL, Dennis Moses of DeRidder and Peggy Reed of Texas; siblings, Connie Alcock & Clifford Cummings; 8 grandchildren, Terri, Tim, Tina, Jody, Jennifer, Jessica, Pam and Jason; 23 great grandchildren; and numerous great great-grandchildren.
