Edward "Frank" Franklin Robertson's Obituary
Edward (Frank) Franklin Robertson, 79 of Sanger, Texas, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2009.
He was born November 20, 1929 in Black Hawk, Mississippi to parents Dewey and Lois Robertson. He married his wife, Merle Taylor Dowden, on May 8, 1981 in Conroe, Texas. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and Viet-Nam Wars. He retired from the Army in 1968. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Sanger as well as the First Baptist Church of Anacoco.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 16 at 2 pm at the First Baptist Church of Anacoco, with Bro. D.R. Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Mitchell Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 15 at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.
He is survived by his wife Merle Robertson of Sanger Texas; brother Glen Robertson; sisters, Syliva Mims and husband Billy and Ruth Brewer and husband Alton, all of Colia, Mississippi; numerous nieces and nephews; stepsons, Eddie Dowden and wife Kathy of Rhome, Texas, Mike Dowden and wife Jan of Conroe, Texas, Kenny Dowden and wife Nancy of Conroe, Texas; six grandchildren, Chris Wozinak, Lacey Buford, Shanye Dowden, Brittany Barclay, Cody Dowden, DJ Dowden; three great-grandchildren Austin Barclay, Mia and Chloe Wozniak.
He is preceded in death by his parents and first wife Vergie Langton Robertson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity or to the Children's home in Louisiana in memory of Frank.
