Edna Ethel Martin's Obituary
Funeral service for Mrs. Edna Ethel Martin, 97, of Baton Rouge, La.,formally of DeRidder, La., will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3,2015, in Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder,La., with the Rev. Eddie Tilley officiating. Burial will follow in BeauregardCemetery, DeRidder, La., under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder. Mrs. Martin passed from this life on Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, in Baton Rouge, La. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, La.
Edna was born on Sunday, July 15, 1917, to Charlie and Mary Pierson Baggett in Soapstone Community, La. She was a homemaker and lived
most of her life in DeRidder, La., before moving to Baton Rouge for the past five years. She was a member of the Pentecostal Gospel Lighthouse in DeRidder. The family would also like to thank Myrtis Martin and her family for the care they provided prior to Edna's move to Baton Rouge.
She is survived by two sons, Alan E. Martin (Natalie) of Baton Rouge, La., and Donald W. Martin (Susan) of McKinney, Texas; seven
grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther E. Martin; her parents; and two brothers, Edward Baggett and Robert Baggett.
