Eddie Friend's Obituary
Memorial services for Eddie Friend, 70, of Florien will be held Saturday, September 2, 2017, at 11 am at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville, with Rev. Russell Aucoin and Rev. CM Kelly officiating. The visitation will be at 10 am and the service following at 11 am. Food and fellowship will be available.
Eddie, the son of George Friend and Eva Barkman Friend, was born on October 17, 1946, in Maryland at Havre de Grace, Maryland, Harford County. He was a retiree from General Motors in Shreveport, LA. He was a member and first responder for the South Toledo Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He loved to play chess and take care of flowering plants. He spent many hours watching sunsets on Chincoteague Island, VA. He passed away at Rapides Hospital in Alexandria, LA.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janice Friend of Florien; son, Eddie Friend, Jr., of Norfolk, VA; daughter, Deborah Brown of Acworth, GA and grandchildren, Justin Brown of Acworth, GA, Joie Foster of California, Eddie Friend, III and Jackson Friend.
Family request that no flowers be sent to service.
