Earnestine B. James, 79, died on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. She leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Jesse; Children – Paul (Suncha), Pamela, Patricia (Lindsey), Pusef; Grandchildren – Marcus, Jacinta, Maurice, and Jarrad; Great Grandchildren, Hailey, Hayden, Harmony, Trinity, and Serenity; Sister – Mary Bradford; Two Special Nieces, Deborah J. Berry and Diane Berry-Franklin, and all of her nieces and nephews.
Earnestine was born and raised in Natchez, Mississippi on June 18, 1941 to Wesley and Charity Berry. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and two sisters. She has one surviving sister, Mary Bradford.
On October 28, 1960, she married the love of her life, Jesse C. James, Jr. After her husband retired from the United States Army, they settled in Leesville, Louisiana and graciously continued to raise their four children. Earnestine worked for 29 years in various Dining Facilities located on Fort Polk, Louisiana, and she retired during the summer of 2004. She enjoyed spending quality and quiet time with her family, dancing, laughing, cooking and baking, fishing, crawfishing, crabbing, and countless hours watching “Westerns” on television.
At a very early age, she was baptized in Natchez, Mississippi, and humbly accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. Until her death, she was a member and one of the Mother’s at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Derrick Johnson.
We ALL will miss her smile, laugher, voice, and kind words. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, and everyone’s “Aunt Bae Sis”. She was always a loving, caring and giving woman. Our love for her will live on in our memories forever. Earnestine will definitely be missed but never ever forgotten.
