Earnest Dwane Honea's Obituary
E. Dwane Honea, 86, of Kipling Community, LA, passed from this life on Monday, November 2, 2014, in DeRidder, LA.
Dwane was born on August 12, 1928, at Kipling Community, LA where he lived all of his life. He was an avid fisherman and sunset photographer. He was a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church and loved his family and loved gardening. Dwane was formerly employed at the DeRidder Ice Plant and Westvaco where he was a power operator.
He is survived his wife, married 65 years, Altha Frusha Honea of the Kipling Community, LA; 2 sons, Larry Honea and wife Kathy of Dry Creek, LA and Gary Honea and wife Terry of DeRidder, LA; 1 daughter, Diane Honea of Dry Creek, LA; 5 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Dwane is preceded in death by his parents, Walter Honea and mother, Verna Harris; grandsons, Gary “Mann” Honea, David Alan Honea and Arnold Wade Dartez.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2014, 11:00 AM at Dry Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie Bailey, Rev. John Gray, Rev. Dore Langley and Tod Burnaman officiating. Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder, LA.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Dry Creek Baptist Church, Dry Creek, LA and Thursday 9:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM at the church.
