Earl E. Smith's Obituary
Funeral Service for Earl E. Smith, 81, of DeRidder, LA, will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2012, 2:00 PM, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home, DeRidder, LA, with Rev. Jerome Hayes officiating. Military Graveside Service will be at Beauregard Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder, LA.
Visitation will begin Saturday, February 25, 2012, 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
Earl was born on November 26, 1930, to Rosa Jenkins Smith and Joe Smith at Campo, Colorado. He passed from this life on Thursday, February 23, 2012, at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. He was born in Colorado but was a lifelong resident of Beauregard Parish. Earl proudly served in the Korean War and was a member of the VFW. He retired as a heavy equipment operator from the pipeline industry and he will be remembered as a lifelong cowboy.
He is survived by one son, Ricky Smith and wife Rhonda of Weatherford, TX;
2 daughters, Debra Smith, Sandra Hayes and husband Doug, all of DeRidder, LA; one step-daughter, Janet Smith, of DeRidder, LA; one brother, B. L. Smith and wife Sharon Smith of DeRidder, LA; 10 grandchildren & 5 great-grandchildren.
