Earl Mundy's Obituary
Funeral services for Earl Mundy, will be held Sunday, December 17, 2017, at 3 pm at Simpson Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Welcome Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 17, 2017 from 1:00 pm until time of service at the church.
Mr. Mundy, age 98, of Simpson died Thursday, December 14, 2017 in Byrd Hospital in Leesville.
Earl was born in Grant Parish, but lived most of his life in Simpson. He was a WWII Army veteran and was a member of the Simpson Baptist Church. At the conclusion of WWII, he started work in the parts department of the Cain Motor Company (Ford) dealership in Leesville, ultimately working his way up to general manager and part owner of the dealership.
He was preceded in death by his father Harvey L. Mundy, mother Alice Gentry Mundy, sister Bessie Lee Turner and nephew Gordon Williamson.
Earl is survived by his sister, Tressie Williamson of Simpson, LA; nephew, Randy Williamson of Simpson, LA, niece, Mavis Williamson of Benton, AR, nephew, Robert Turner and wife Karen of DeRidder, LA, niece Peggy Matero and husband Tony of Harker Heights, TX, and host of great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
