Funeral services for E. Eileen Woods of Leesville were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2009 in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Lowrey officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Forest Cemetery in Leesville, Louisiana. under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home.
Eileen Woods was born in Slagle, Louisiana; she resided in Vernon Parish most of her life. She was a member of the Congregational Methodist Church of Evans, Louisiana. She attended McNeese State University, and was employed by Civil Service and
Wal-Mart.
She was a wonderful aunt and enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews. She was a great historian, and loved sharing the family history. Eileen was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents James C. Woods and Dora Jarrell Woods and a nephew-in-law, Stavros Vasiliou.
She is survived by: two sisters, Paula Simmons and Edith Guenther and husband Harry, of Leesville; two nieces, Cathie Vasiliou of Springdale, Arkansas and Nancy Burns and husband Bobby of Rogers, AR.; one nephew, Randall Burch and wife Elizabeth of Leesville; three great nieces, Shanna Baxter, Leigha K. Burns, and Athena Vasiliou; four great nephews, Michael Burns and wife Alli, Evan Burch, Alexander Vasiliou and Ethan Prewitt; two great great nieces, Chloe Stanley and Aubrie Burns; and brother-in-law Harold Burch of Edgewater, Florida.
