Douglas Moore's Obituary
Memorial Services for Douglas Howard “Doug” Moore, 63, of Leesville, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 in the Hope Springs United Pentecostal Church of Leesville with Rev. Wesley Manning, Rev. Steven Bishop, Rev. Billie Jean Bishop and Rev. George Lee Glass officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 15, from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at the church.
Doug was born on July 27, 1959 to his parents, Charles and Wanda “Dumpy” Moore in Lake Charles, LA. He passed away on November 10, 2022 at his home in Florien.
Doug was born and raised in Vernon Parish. His childhood was spent running the roads of Snuff Ridge with all the neighborhood kids. Doug attended Leesville High School and was a proud Wampus Cat; he was always active in reunions and homecomings and enjoyed spending time with his classmates. He was the manager at McDonalds in Leesville for many years and anyone who came through got a smile and a hug with their order; Doug loved working in the public and spending time with his McDonalds family, especially his very special friend, Sandra Craft. Many people remember Doug as their first and best boss; He was always willing to listen and lend a helping hand. Doug worked at role play on Ft. Polk where he really enjoyed meeting people and making new friends. Doug married Cindy, the love of his life and enjoyed making memories and living life to the fullest with her at his side. For the last two years, Doug fought a very hard battle but through all that, he always kept a positive attitude and had a smile on his face.
Doug is preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife: Cindy Moore of Leesville; Brother: PeeWee Moore and wife, Theresa of St. Martinville; Stepdaughter: Autumn Fletcher of Pickering; Stepson: Gabriel Fletcher of Pickering; Uncles: Ray Mayo and wife, Nancy of Scott, Don Moore and wife, Sharon of Anacoco; Niece: Tammy Jones and husband, Travis of DeRidder; Great Niece DeAnna Jones Fuller and husband, Mitchell; Great Nephew: Ryan Jones and wife, Kelly; Great- Great nieces and nephews: Khloe Fuller, Charlie Fuller, Easton Jones, Drake Jones, Zoey Jones; A special First Cousin: Taini Bennett; Special Friends: Ronnie Hagan and wife, JoAnn, Gary Patton and a host of other cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Society.
