Rev. Douglas Hilton's Obituary
Funeral services for Rev. Douglas Hilton, 60, of Hornbeck, Louisiana will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2014 in the Hornbeck High School Gymnasium with Rev’s. Lloyd Carroll and Wilkie Richmond officiating. Burial will follow in the Gum Springs Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 15th from 4 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at Gum Springs Baptist Church, and on Monday, June 16th from 9:00 a.m. until service time in the Hornbeck High School Gymnasium.
Douglas the son of Roy and Juanita Ellis Hilton was born on October 10th, 1953 in Leesville, Louisiana. He passed into his eternal home on Thursday, June 12, 2014 in Leesville.
Doug was a 1971 graduate of Hornbeck High School, and a member of the Sons of Confederacy. He had been employed by Valley Electric Company for over 40 years. He was the Pastor of Gum Springs Baptist Church from 1978 until 2011. Doug was an example of a true Christian. Even through his illness he was an inspiration and encouragement to many people. He has fought the good fight, He has finished his course, He has kept the faith, and He has finished well.
Doug is survived by his Wife: Brenda Hilton of Hornbeck, La.; His Children: Jason & Jeanette Hilton of Hornbeck, La., and Amy & Michael Lightsey of Hornbeck, La.; One brother: Nick & Rita Hilton of Hornbeck, La.; One Sister: Vickey & Harry Stevenson of Hornbeck, La.; His Mother: Juanita Hilton of Hornbeck, La.; One Brother-in-law: Steven & Shonda Dowden of Hornbeck, La.; His Grandchildren: Joseph Douglas Hilton, Gavin Michael Lightsey, Justin Noah Lightsey, Ryleigh Samantha Hilton, and One on the way.
