Funeral services for Doshie Keel, 95, of DeRidder, Louisiana, will be held at 1 P.M., Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder. Burial will follow in Hinson Cemetery in Knight Community under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Visitation will be held from 5 P.M. until 9 P.M., Tuesday, January 12, 2010, and from 9 A.M. until time of the service, Wednesday, January 13, 2010, in Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Mrs. Keel passed away Monday, January 11, 2010, in Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder.
Born in Vernon Parish, Louisiana, Mrs. Keel lived in Keithville, Louisiana, for the past twenty-seven years. She was a Homemaker and of the Primitive Baptist faith. She was a member of the VFW Auxilliary.
She is survived by three sons, Ottis Keel and wife Patsy of Joshua, TX, Thomas Keel and George Keel and wife Joyce, both of Keithville, LA; one daughter, Melonee Smith and husband William "Rooter" of Leesville, LA; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren, and fourteen great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Jesse Keel, five children, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
