Funeral Service for Dorothy M. Schmidt, 74, will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, 10:00 AM, at Highland Mennonite Church, DeRidder, LA, with Minister Larry Schmidt and Minister Kevin Schmidt officiating. Burial will be at Highland Mennonite Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder, LA. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the church.
Dorothy was born on April 18, 1937, to Ida and Noah Schmidt in Dalhart, Tx. She passed from this life on Saturday, February 11, 2012, at Landmark of Lake Charles, Louisiana. She was a lifelong resident of DeRidder and was a member of the Highland Mennonite Church.
She is survived by 2 brothers, Earvy Schmidt and wife Eunice, DeRidder, LA and Milton Schmidt and wife Regean, DeRidder, LA; 3 sisters, Rozella Loewen and husband Jim, Monte Vista, CO, Delores Decker, DeRidder, LA and Virginia Koehn, DeRidder, LA.
