Funeral services for Dorothy Machotka Hayes, 90, of DeRidder, LA will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in DeRidder with Rev. Lamar Oliver officiating. The burial will follow in the Bea Read Obituary
I am an evangelist from Texas, and I met Dorothy on my very first engagement, in 2006, at her church. I called her "Dorothy from Dalhart." She was a fun person to be with. Today my prayer calendar reminded me that June was a difficult month for her, so I did a little research to see if I could contact her. I discovered that she had gone to Heaven. Welcome Home, Dorothy from Dalhart!
Thinking of your family Ronnie. Your mom was a very special woman. I just read the article of her donation to Rosepine. This was so Mrs. Hayes! Such a big heart and I can't wait to pass there next and admire HER tree. God's blessings to you all.

Sandy, Cathy, Ronnie and families--I was sorry to hear of Dorothy's passing. I lived across the street from her until last year when I moved to Missouri. I had many wonderful discussions and visits with her over the years that I lived in DeRidder. God bless all of you.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss. Mr. & Mrs. Hayes were very special people. I spent most of my childhood hanging out at the Hayes's house with Ricky. The Hayes family will always hold a very special place in my heart. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.
