Doris R. Bonnette entered heavens gates on November 27, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. O.S. Roberts. Doris was born on August 15, 1935, in Provencal Louisiana. She had five brothers and five sisters.
She graduated from Belmont High School in 1953. She had a personal relationship with her savior Jesus Christ. She married the love of her life the late Charles E. Bonnette in 1958. They had one daughter, Renee Bonnette Wilson. Doris enjoyed laughing and talking with her son in law, Al Wilson. One of her greatest times is when she became a Maw Maw to her only grandchild, Jeremy Wilson. She worked at the Continental Motor Lodge, now Days Inn of Leesville for forty years as General Manager. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Leesville. She loved watching her Gaither tapes, reading and spending time at the camp. Helping family and friends were Doris’s passion and delight. She was a faithful supporter of various organizations including Paralyzed Veterans, Mothers against Drunk Driving, The American Cancer Society and the Leesville Lions Club Crippled Children. She will always be remembered as a joyful giver with a big heart. If a person’s life is measured by the joy they bring others, hers was running over.
Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Leesville.
