Dorinda was born on September 1, 1947 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to her parents, Linus & Gertrude Watson Tempel. She passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022 in Leesville.
Dorinda was born a servant. She has taken care of many loved ones in their time of need and was always willing to lend a hand to help where she could, even if it was making something delicious to share with others.
She was an avid quilter. She loved creating beautiful quilts and giving them to a special someone to show her love. However, her quilting time was more than just a hobby, it was her time to spend with her friends. She made many wonderful memories and friendships that became an intricate part of her daily life.
Dorinda was a faithful member of Polk Memorial Episcopal Church for over 40 years. During this time she has served on many committees and was involved in the Daughters of the King where she lived by their motto: “Empowered by the Holy Spirit, our vision as Daughters of the King is to know Jesus Christ, to make Him known to others, and to become reflections of God’s love throughout the world.”
Most importantly she loved her family. As a testament to her love, she was a devoted wife to Kenneth for 53 years. Her pride and joys were her daughter and her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them whether on the soccer fields or beating them at a hand of cards as well as catching up with them with visits, pictures, and social media.
Dorinda is preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Beverly Rex, Marlene Tempel, brother; David Tempel.
