Donnie Owen's Obituary
Funeral services for Donnie Owen, 89, of DeRidder, LA, will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 28, 2024 in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Burial will follow in the Beauregard Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 11:00 A.M until time of service in the funeral home.
Donnie was born on February 2, 1935 in Panama City, FL to his parents, Junior and Evie D. Owen. He passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024 in Rosepine, LA.
Donnie loved the outdoors. He was an avid quail hunter and began deer hunting after he had killed all of the quail in the area. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening. Donnie loved all horses, especially his own Sport, Lady and Bob. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in DeRidder. Most of all, Donnie enjoyed spending time with his family; he attended all of the sporting events of his grandsons, Parker and Causey.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Junior and Evie Owen; wife: Barbara Norton-Owen; brother: Julius Phillip Owen
Left to cherish his memory are his sons: Donald Owen Jr of Houston, TX, William Owen and wife Shari of DeRidder, LA; sister: Debra Kay Self of Pensacola, FL; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
