Donald Eugene "Gene" Beebe's Obituary
Memorial services for Donald Eugene ”Gene” Beebe, 88, of Anacoco, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the First Baptist Church of Anacoco with Rev. D.R. Davis and Rev. Malcom Self officiating. Services are under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, June 14, 2014 beginning at 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the church.
On Monday June 9, 2014, Heaven got a little sweeter. Gene Beebe was born October 2, 1925, in Portsmouth, Ohio to Waldo Putnam and Mary Margaret Beebe.
Gene served his country as a Bombardier in the U.S. Army Air Corp. Gene was an active member of his community of Jonesboro, LA, where he served as a Policeman and DARE Officer for many years. He also served as Deacon of his church. He was a beloved little league coach. Gene was loved by many and will be missed by all.
He is preceded in death by grandsons, Aaron Whatley and Clay Hennigan, granddaughter,Brooke Hennigan; great granddaughter, Bree Richardson and sisters, Alberta and Louise.
He is survived by his wife, of 32 years Glenda Beebe and his children, Margaret and husband Roger, Donnie and wife Nancy, Clarence and wife Shi, and Doug and wife Janet; his stepchildren, Tanya, Rita and husband Dewayne, Sharon, and Rodney and wife Ionela and sister, Jane Hughes. Gene had 17 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made the Donald Gene Beebe Memorial Fund at Merchant and Farmers Bank.
